In addition to the bordeauxs and Napa Cab's we also opened up a few Rhones.

(1) 2007 Ch. de Beaucastel: Infanticide but for education. On open, rather bright and candied. Very little complexity. AFter waiting four hours, we double decanted and then after another couple of hour, it finally started to show its structure. Since it took so long (and with very little left), I can't make heads or tails of this wine. Strange for a Beaucastel.

(2) 2006 Mas de Boislauzon "Tintot" Châteauneuf-du-Pape: my fav wine shortly after th eHaut Brion adn the Cain Five was this one. Very interesting, 100% Mouvedre but very interesting nose, elegant and wonderful. Pricey at $80 a bottle but very interesting.

(3) 2007 Domaine de la Solitude (regular CDP), bright, modern, clean, almost central coast in nature. Nicely done but was not looking for this in a CDP.

I like the CdR from Domaine de la Solitude. A nice QPR wine. I don't think I've tried their CdP.
