A Cotes du Roussillon Villages from M. Chapoutier, this is a blend of Grenache, Syrah and "old bush vine Carignan". Taken aback by the nose, which seemed "bretty", but that wasn't noticeable on the palate, where ripe red and black fruit dominated with a nice mouth-feel. Moderate finish, 13.5% alc/vol and $9.99 at Costco; with last of daughter's crock-pot pork chops and risotto. Very nice.
