1996 Domaine Moureou

A few years ago this was too tannic to approach. Last night:

sweet pipe tobacco nose, deep color, chocolate/cherry mouth and, finally, tannins that melded.

Teriffic $12 wine, and great with seared lamb chops brushed with crushed black pepper, crushed garlic and oo, topped with rosemary.

I like Madiran -- it always seems to have a lot of "stuff" going on in the glass. I find it a good late fall chilly evening wine-on-the-porch wine, too.

That's a bit nippy! I can't really complain about the summer here in "Hotlanta." We set record lows three consecutive nights here in the last week. Wierd summer, indeed.
