'01 F.X. Pichler Riesling Smaragd "Von Den Terassen"

1.5 oz. pour for $4.75 at Enoteca Vin in Raleigh. Pale gold --not much color really.
Crisp grapefruity aroma. Nice mid-palate and lengthy finish. Grapefruit and lemon on the palate. Nice dry Riesling. Might pair well with some fish and shellfish dishes.

It's both a restaurant and wine bar and has a tie-in to a retail wine shop (at a different location). It's a great way to try wines I might not ordinarily be able to afford to try. For example, after trying a Leoville Poyferre, I decided to buy a couple bottles. Most wines on the list are available in 1.5 oz, 3 oz., 5oz. pours or by the bottle. (A few of the most expensive wines are only available by the bottle.)
