2003 Claiborne & Churchill, Central Coast, Dry Gewurztraminer, Alsatian Style ($14.99 The Clown in Belfast). 13.4% alcohol. Lychees (those white grapelike things that come in cans) and spice on the nose and upfront. Thankfully lean though complex body crosses the palate, and the finish is delightful. Very nice Gewurz.

Married it with our chicken breasts marinated in roasted garlic salsa, lime juice, and Hoisin sauce; grilled over charcoal with mesquite smoke. It was a better match than the Riesling last week. Next time we are going to blend the marinade together instead of just whisking it. Will look for more Gewurz to go with it.
