This was a neat bottle and I've never had a Zweigelt before. A friend of mine bought me this bottle from Austria a couple of years ago and I've just been hanging onto it.

I kinda expected it to be a bit of a lighter German red wine but this one had a good body. It tasted a bit like a lighter Syrah with some of the spiciness and a good structure. It was a bit stemmy and there was a bit of bitterness at the end but nothing significant and it was a actually an okay bottle. Rather straight forward and not complex. Easy drinking but not for this price. 12.5% alcohol.
