$20
After the amazing Huet, I really wanted to go find some more sparkling Chenin... Unfortunately, this bottle is in the long line of underwhelming bubbles I've had from the region. It's Chenin, Chardonnay and Cab Franc.
Nothing wrong with it, but only marginally better than some of the better $10 cavas.
Light, dry, short finish, with a touch of yeastiness and under-ripe (though not unpleasant) green apple.
Went well with spicy Thai food.

At a similar price point, I much preferred Champalou's NV. And for $10 more the Huet vintage petillant is another beast entirely.
The price of this (and restrospectively, the Champalou) makes me nervous that the next Huet vintage petillant will jump in price. I wouldn't blame them, I suppose.

I've always been a fan of Cremant d'Alsace, but I've never been much of a fan of the Loire versions. I've had a Baumard or two that was pretty tasty, the Tirage.

I agree with you on the Alsace. It's puzzling to me... The things that make cremant d'Alsace good seem to be for the most part in common with Loire chenin...
Try the huet petillant if you see it, though.
