I'm a neophyte wine afficionado and I just received a very kind gift of a bottle of Dom Perignon 1990. I know this is a very good vintage year, but I'm guessing the wine was stored in suboptimal conditions. It was in the original box and was kept horizontal by the original recipient, but the temperature was not constant nor was it likely below room temperature. What effect is the temperature likely to have? Will it even be drinkable? If it's worth drinking, what temperature would be best? Thanks for any help you can provide!

Hi SY and welcome to the board.Optimal storage temps for bubblies is 50*. Hopefully this lopvely bottle has survived the mistreatment. Chill it down and have your significant other next to you and pop the cork on that sucker. HOPEFULLY you'll have a delicious drinking experience. Good Luck. WW
