hello all... i'm having a brunch next week and want to pick up a case of sparkling wine... any recommendations? i'm looking for any and all recommendations. i don't have a HUGE budget but want something decent to serve guests!! thanks!

Since you're making mimosas, any inexpensive sparkler will work. You can try Korbel Brut, or even one of the cheaper sparklers from France, or even a Cava from Spain. Ask the guys at your favorite wine shop.

hey thanks. so you like korbel? there were a few recommended by the guy at wine shop but i'm looking for second opinions:

marquis de gelida cava
piper sonoma
domaine ste michelle
and cristalino

care for any of the above? i'm really looking for personal opinions.... thanks!

Out of that group, I'd pick the Cristalino, because it's a decent sparkler and it's only about $9.

I'll second the Cristalino. Dandy little bottle of bubbly that only runs $6 around here.

really? two thumbs up for cristalino. interesting. yeah, it's about 7 bucks here, and i'll get a discount if i buy the case (they'll be about 12 people at brunch and i want to be on the safe side...) also, what's your take on having a variety of bubbly instead of one kind? is that OK? or is mixing not such a great idea?
