I have a friend and his wife who were very impressed with an Italian sparkling wine Rosa Regale. They are having fun trying to find a comparable wine. Some say that there isn't anything close to it. Hogwash, I say....LOL. Can anybody make any suggestions as to what might come close? Can anybody tell me something about that wine? Like history, vineyard, or process? Anything would be appreciated. Give me some ideas and let them be the judge of whether it's close or not after all, it's their tastebuds that tasted that Rosa Regale and everybody tastes some things differently. Besides it's fun trying out different wines. Well, thanks in advance.

There may well be, but I doubt if there is anything else like it. Banfi's Rosa Regale is a sweet sparkling rose' wine, and just about in a league by itself. It has been recommended by various members of this board, so if your friends like it, tell them to stay with it.

If someone was twisting your arm and you had to try to come up with something, what would you recommend? I believe what you say because several people people on this forum have said the exact same thing. But, just please give me something.....cheaper. Thanks.

Karl, I hate to bust on you but this is a negociant bottling of Brachetto d'Acqui and not remotely in the league of estate wines like Marenco or Cascina Fonda which are about the same price (or less).
