Among others, two of the folks at the party Sunday were managers at other wine shops (Mike knows them - Steve and Dave). Anyway, Dave brought two bubblies that were very enthusiastically received. First is a staple - we've all had it many times and will have many more - Vin du Bugey-Cerdon. Next was a grower Champagne that was amazing - NV Rene Geoffroy. He's from Cumieres, not Riems or Epernay. Regardless, it was an amazing wine!!!!! Check out Shiraz for Steve's offering.

I'll have to check if the wine shop in Apex, NC has more Bugey Cerdon on hand. I love it. I will be in Raleigh area next week for an "Open that bottle night" at St. Jacques restaurant and staying overnight and the next day to try out a couple restaurants that are new to me (a pub in downtown Raleigh for lunch and a German restaurant/bakery/patisserie in Durham for dinner.) I plan to look in at one or two wine shops while in the area.

Oh, lord yes. Wish I had more...
The regular NV is good, especially for the price, but not as marvelous as the pink!

It's been a while since I've seen Dave and Steve. I know where Steve is at but where did Dave go?

Will I see you/them tomorrow at the wine expo? (Flew in for this...then will fly to Toronto on Monday to go to the Union De Grand Cru tasting in Toronto, and the return to Boston on Wednesday to do the UGC tasting again on Wednesday afternoon!!
