There really doesn't seem to be a big point to posting Krug notes, but I guess I will anyway.
This bottle was just ok. It had plenty of depth, but just didn't wow me like champagne at this price point usually does. A little short on the finish, a little bit of musk on the nose.
Off bottle? Off night? It was what it was, and I enjoyed it. Just not as much as I wish I would have. Made a little easier by the fact that I got it for $100 even rather than the more typical charge beyond that.

hmmm.... Krug usually impresses. It's got a level of complexity that no other champagne comes close to matching, explained to me previously due to their use of old oak barrels on the base wine.

I do however, think that Krug is not for everyone. It lacks the lightness and lift of most champagnes and if that is what you are looking for then. DP and Cristal are more in line with those.

I've had Krug before and loved it. I think it was just an off-night for the bottle.

I don't know that I'd agree that it has more complexity than good vintage stuff, but that oak definitely gives it a uniquely (among champagne) burgundian thing.

Ah okay! So it was a offnight for a krug. Tough considering the price. I understand now.
