A little question for the always reliable Wine Board Moderators:

Had bottle of Pol Roger Brut Chardonnay 1990 which I thought was quite nice. Why is it called "Chardonnay" and not Blanc de Blancs? Trivia I know, but collecting useless knowledge is a hobby. Also, I have another bottle - how much longer can I hang on to it? Thanks as always.

Good question: I suspect it is because the word Chardonnay has more impact these days, especially in U.S. and U.K. markets.
