1999 Condesa de Leganza Crianza

1999 Bodegas Leganza, Condesa de Leganza, Crianza, La Mancha ($7.99 local super). 100% Tempranillo; 13% alcohol. Another good bargain from Spain. Bing cherries on the nose and upfront, decent complexity accented by the vanilla from American oak cross the palate, and a pleasant finish. Enjoyed it by itself, after arriving home from a church dinner.

Another tonight with hickory smoked baby back ribs in Carolina Red Sauce. Worked fine accompanied with sauteed hash browns, and salad in blue cheese dressing. Next time, though I think I'll get some Zin to go with this dish.

Had one of these last night with bbq'd chicken on whole wheat with Grey Poupon and green olives. $6.54 at Sam's Club in Feb '05. Agree with IK's TN; very nice for the price.
