Made with organically grown grapes, this blend of 80% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacha missed the mark: woody nose, splinters on the palate, and a dysfunctional fruit mixture. Suspect either grape would have produced a very nice wine on its lonesome, but this buggered-up combination just doesn't work. With Mexican food (jalapeno tamales, Spanish rice, pinto beans), $9.96 at Sam's Wholesale and 13% alc/vol.
