2004 Venta Mazzaron Tempranillo

Had snagged this at Costco last fall and ignored it since.... all of $8.99 per, couldn't deliver much enjoyment, right? Needed something to handle her peasant stew and decided to give it a try.

Deep crimson in the glass, sweet fruit and spices on the nose (uh oh, gonna be an oaky fruit bomb), soft red fruit and cinnamon? cloves? on the palate, nice mouthfeel, finishes long enough to handle the stew and a bite of dark chocolate as dessert. 14% alc/vol. At the price, worth keeping a few on hand.
