I have in my cellar, stored as reccmmended by the maker, a red wine from the Rioja region of spain.Brand name: Faustino 1, bottled by : BODEGAS FAUSTINO MARTINEZ,S.A.
OYON-RIOJA-ESPANA.I aquired this bottle while visiting in Spain from a good friend in the later 1970"s. The wine was bottled in 1970 and is Botella No. 28698. On the rear of the bottle is a lable that states.
Rioja Gran Reserva B. No 389418 3.
can anyone give me information as to value of should I just open and drink it on a special occassion.

Hi James, and welcome to the Wine Board. Thirty two years is a long time for a Rioja, even a Rioja Riserva, to go; even with ideal storage conditions. It very well may be still be stunning, but I wouldn't guarantee it. Therefore the drinking option is preferable to trying to peddle it on E-Bay. When you do open it, you might want to have a newer one in reserve; just in case.

..it is always worth repeating: invest in the market, drink wine! The latter offers an added benefit of softening the blow of market losses; the former gives a better overall return on your money over decades, especially if you have no idea what that stuff is in your cellar.

1970 was a very good vintage of Faustino.If it has been stored properly it may still be very good.I recommend that you open the wine and enjoy it!
