I had this white Spanish wine at Savoy Restaurant in Asheville, NC to accompany squash soup with creme fraiche and penne a la vodka with tomato-based pink sauce.

The Rueda was crisp and pure in taste with a slightly peppery note. Not very citrusy--more like actual grapes in a good sense. It went well with the squash soup but not as well with the penne dish.

I passed on dessert but had a pour of Fonseca 10-year Tawny Port (see Ports).
