'03 Cosecheros Y Criaderos Casa Solar Blanco ($5.99 Micucci's Portland, ME). Alcohol level 11.5%. This wine is made 100% from the varietal Viura (a.k.a. Macabeo in Southern France). This one is from Rioja, and contains a little bit of oak. It is the white sister of the Plata that has been kicked around here. It is nothing to write home about, but is a drinkable inexpensive wine to match with things you are uncertain about, or to cook with. We matched it with a new version of our Sauteed Chicken Breast Paprika. The wine with the touch of oak, held up fine to it.
