My 1st expidition into the world of Spanish juice. 50% Monastrell, 20% Tempranillo, 20% Syrah, and 10% Merlot. Deep ruby. Nose of black fruits, spice, and some flowers. All come over on the palate along with a tad of tar. Solid entry, nice center and a very surprising 3&3/4ths lapper finish. A definate case buy. Quite a revelation in that the P/Q is at the top of the heap IMHO. 88/91. 9.99 at Vintage. 145 ALC. ww

Welcome to a new country of wine to explore, WW. Definitely still some bargains in the bottles and barrels of Espana.

Thanks for the notes on this one. I know Drew and I had been drinking through the '04 Carros, and I think there was a thread on it at some point, but I haven't yet picked up any of the '05s. Will have to change that in the near future.

WW, now that you are over here look for 2005 Bodegas Vinos Pinol Ludovicus if you get a chance. At $8, its a pretty good QPR too and to me it was a pretty good drink!

Patrick Mata, the importer for both of these wines is the king of value-Spain. Was just told today I might be tasting with him in a couple of weeks. Either way, I know I'll be tasting with him in a couple of months.

i still have both of these wines in the cellar. Thanks for the reminder...

Along with the box of Petit Bocq I'd forgotten was a 6 pack of this lil beauty and also a 6-pack 04 Domaine Vallet cuvee Mulitiers which I haven't opened yet. Not much to add except I wish I'd gotten a box or so. Had one last nite with American Idol and it did just fine. Made another Weener "fat finger" on the alc as it's 14%. Musta' forgot to hit the shift key. WW
