Tasted through 4 chardonnays last night:

Les Vergers 1er Cru Chassagne Montrachet Recolte '89

Grand Cru Chevalier-Montrachet Recolte '92

Grand Cru Corton-Charlemagne '96

Peter Michael Bella Cote '03

Enjoyed these with my wife. I didn't take notes as I thought that might distract me from conversation; She already called me a wine geek once. I will say Her favorite was the Chassagne-Montrachet. The fruit was starting to fade but was still alive; very soft. My favorite was the Chevalier-Montrachet; the fruit was screaming at me along with soft notes of buttery oak all perfectly balanced. Although all the wines were great, her favorite was my least favorite and visa versa. The Peter Michael was great but because it was so youthful, it hasn't had time to show off secondary nuances. It was nice to be able to compare our palates to such great wines.
