2007 Cono Sur, Pinot Noir, Chile ($9.99 Whole Foods). Alcohol level: 13.5%. This is a bold New World style of Pinot that is still fairly light on the palate.

It gives you a half ton of black cherries on the nose and upfront. In the middle it shows medium body and some earthy complexity. It finshes nicely, and comes with a screw top.

It went very nicely with a dish that true love concocted tonight. It was a pork dish consisting of pounded pieces of loin sauteed with wild mushrooms, and served with cous cous, and green beens. It all went together very well for a Monday night.
