Something a little sweeter but very smooth: try Benedictine. Or if you want a little more punch to it try: B&B (Benedictine and Brandy). Or give the Bonney Prince's favorite drink a try: Drambouie.

The aforementioned Hennessey or Remy Martin XO are, indeed, wonderful Cognacs. You could also give the VSOP a shot (pun intended).

You might also want to think about a fine Sherry or Port as an alternative to your after dinner spirits. Rather than being distilled, the are fortified wines and are also quite good for sipping after dinner.
