Vieux Cognac

I am a collge student, and presently I am trying to identify a cognac bottle. The bottle itself was made in a three piece mold pointing to being made sometime after 1880, and has a maluble metal seal that says Vieux Cognag. If you can recommend any sources that may help me in this quest it would be much appreaciated.
