Yup, we're fine here, some 200 miles west of landfall. Was hoping for a few raindrops but those missed us too. We're grateful no storm damage here. Daughter & son-in-law in Bryan (north of Big H) had lots of rain and high winds but no damage at all. Sister-in-law in Houston is still without power, endangering contents of her refrigerator, freezer and winecellar, but she's OK, too. Images from KHOU, a Houston TV and radio station, have been incredible (khou.com). Suspect cadaver dogs will be needed in Galveston and its environs, since the landscape is covered in pick-up sticks. How can folks recover from this sort of thing? Dunno.
