Rev Norman O'Connor, aan ordsained Catholic Priest, a jazz authority was on the board of the original Newport Jazz festival. An accomplished Jazz pianist I had the pleasure of meeting him and participating in one of his panel discussions at the festival. He taught at Boston University for 10 or so and then moved to New York where he hosted a local TV show called Dial M for Music. A true Renaissance man of the cloth.
