If you haven't left already, Kathy, have a good trip. I hope you have better experiences with the Belgian people than I did. The Dutch on the other hand were delightful. On two trips from Germany, Belgium was a series of hassles and rude encounters for me and my traveling companions. One example: in Knokke-Heist, a seaside resort, we get shrimp salad in a place that is both a sit-in restaurant and takeout deli. We go to sit down to eat the salad and are informed that that is a takeout item and we can't sit there and eat it. We take it to the beach and are told we can't eat food on the beach. We end up eating it in our hotel rooms. Our trip was so miserable that we decided to leave a day early, but the hotel owner made us pay for the extra night even though he re-rented the room before we were even out-of-town.
