When I used the term "irresponsibly," I was jokingly referring to testing to see whether it wasn't blood, but rather Pinot Noir, as was playfully suggested by Wonders (and confirmed by Dr. Drew). As it is, I am lucky to have a wonderful doc who is also a close family friend, so she'll always err on the side of caution, which doesn't bother me a bit. She's pretty sure it's just a hematoma from the accident, as I had a massive purple hue (sort of the shade of a Loring Pinot Noir) and significant swelling in the kidney area, but she just wants the images to be on the safe side.

And, you're absolutely right Bucko -- I'd hate to be a doctor right now. You're damned if you do and damned if you don't in many respects. WP, it's not visibly red right now, just shows up under the 'scope, so I'm not too worried yet, although it is now a month after the accident, and I would have hoped it to be done by now. Oh well, I'll soon find out what's going on! Thanks, all, for your continued concern.
