I recently had a 1998 Chateau Mont-Redon Cotes du Rhone. It was a very nice bottle. Its around 12 bucks a bottle, this may be a good one to go with.

As far as the pinot noir, Other gentlemen on this board have suggested a 1998 Joseph Drouhin Lafouret Pinot Noir. I agree with their suggestion, It was one of the pinot noirs I have had. It is also around 12 bucks.
