Winophite, your tasting note sounds fairly typical for an entry level bourgogne. You may encounter fuller flavors and body as you go up to village and premier cru Burgundies but Pinot Noir in general is a "softer" grape than Cabernet Sauvignon or Syrah, etc. It is not lacking in acid but is less tannic than many red grapes which is part of its attraction for me. Some New World Pinot Noirs utilize extraction from grapeskins to add more color and concentration to the wine. With an outstanding vineyard, good vintage and reliable producer in Burgundy, extraction is not needed to achieve fullness, but the generic bourgognes are usually light, easy drinking wines. So I find your tasting note to be quite perceptive and right on!
