The first time I tried some wines, (about 10 or12 years ago), I tried some Sutter Home Merlot’s and red Zinfandel’s, and I really didn’t like any of them. I seem to recall that they all seemed bitter to me at the time.

Recently someone suggested I try something sweet like a Chenin Blanc, Johannisberg Riesling, or a Harvest wine. So I did, and I have to admit these are great. I also discovered, (by accident), that I really like Gewurztraminer’s, (a 1996 Fetzer was one I tried first). These are typically a “dry” white are they not?

Based on what I like in white wines can someone suggest a red that I might enjoy (in the $5.00 to $15.00 range)? I live in the Northwest (Boise Id.) if that matters.

Another question. What is a “table wine”?
