Wine hold 20yr plus for kids weddings ect...

I am a wine novice but got what I think is a cool idea from a friend. I want to lay down several bottles of wine produced in the years my kids were born (1996,97,00). These are not for investment but consumption on special events (graduation, weddings ect..) I am concered about storing for 20 plus years on most wines.
