Well, Rosso di Montalcino is made from the Sangiovese grape. It's the same grape used to make Chianti, so one of those should fit the bill, as well other Sangiovese based wines. The Rosso is the "little brother" of the Brunello di Montalcino and is made to be drunk while young. Prices for the Rosso are usually in the $8 to $15 range and are quite afordable.
