I don't think the cloudiness is normal. I just finished a half-bottle of Alvear 1927 Solera Pedro Ximenez and it was not cloudy. The year probably refers to a minute part of the wine that dates back to 1827 (or in my case to 1927). Barrels of wine are topped off from previous barrels so that the wine is a blend of many different vintages.
