Storing Whites

My wife and I went to our first outdoor wine tasting event in Mt. Vernon (VA) yesterday, and we got a bit excited and purchased two cases of white wine that we really enjoyed: a Riesling and a Chardonnay from two local VA vineyards.

We just recently got into wine a bit more seriously, and we have been picking up individual bottles here and there at Wine Stores, Costco, etc, such that now my wine cooler is completely filled with various wines.

My dilemma is that I have two cases of white that I plan on drinking throughout the summer, but no ideal place to store them. The wines aren't expensive ($10-15), but we really enjoyed them and don't want to risk impacting their drinkability.

I have no cellar, and our home is usually around 73 degrees. Do you think these two cases of white will be OK sitting in my apartment at room temperature for up to say a year?

I hope this isn't too stupid a question, but I am a bit concerned looking at all that wine we purchased without fully thinking it through. I'd hate to just start chugging (my head still hurts from the festivities last night)! [img]http://www.wines.com/ubb2/smile.gif[/img]
