I recently loved the Gary Farrell Russian River Pinot Noir. Full bodied Pinot Noirs include those from Siduri and Loring Wine Company (but they tend to be somewhat expensive). Most red Burgundies are not "wussy" wines and they are from the Pinot Noir grape--a Gevrey Chambertin for example or a Nuits St. Georges. Also the Gallo Frei Brothers Pinot Noir has enough body that she might like it. I bought the 2002 Gallo Frei Brothers Pinot Noir Reserve for $20.99 at a grocery store, apparently marked down from $23.99. Worth the price.
