Two great wines that I thought were amazing that I recently tried were:

Apollonio Terragnolo Primitivo '98 - absolutely delicious. what a steal for $10 for this 90 RP point wine.

Saintsbury Pinot Noir Garnet Carneros was really nice as well. Had the destinctive Pinot damp earth smell and was not overly oaky.

My biggest disappointment of recent weeks was the Oregon pinot noir from King Estate. It was a like watered down wine.
