I really don't like dumping on wine selections, but Fetzer would not be a Zin I would point someone to who wanted to get in to the variety. A few wineries make a sort of generic Zinfandel that are all quite nice. Try these - Cline California Zin, Rosenblum Vintners Cuvee, Ravenswood Vintners Blend, Renwood Sierra Series and others. They're all about $10, and all are much more representative of a really nice Zin.
