The best recommendation is to get ahold of a half (375 ml) bottle. When finished, wash it out and thoroughly dry. Get a good stopper or keep a cork that didn't get demolished in the uncorking. When you open a wine (in a full bottle) that you know you can't finish, uncork and fill up the 375 ml to the top. Put the stopper or cork in the small bottle and refrigerate it. Drink the half bottle that is left out of the big bottle. Within a week, remove the small bottle from the fridge about an hour before dinner to warm up a little. Talking about red wine here. Do the same with white wine, but you don't have to warm it up too much.
