Newbie here

[Miles Raymond]

Hello all.

As you can tell I am a big fan of the film Sideways. The film has inspired me in many ways. One which is wine.

I am green when it comes to this subject. I do enjoy it and I wish to become more knowledgeable about wine. I have tried several different kinds and I have found that I really like Pinot Noir.

It seems to have light but favorable taste and it goes down very easy. I also have coronary artery disease. It has been suggested by my doctor that a couple of glasses of red wine a day would benefit me. I have tried Merlot and Cabernet; I like them both but the Pinot Noir really seems to grab my pallet the best.

I guess in time I would like to become more knowledgeable about wine. Having said that I'm looking to be pointed in the right direction.

After opening a bottle what is the best way to store it?

After finding what I like, I have started out with bottle of 2001 Cavit Pinot Noir. What are some other recommended brands?

Any other advise in getting started in the world of wine would be greatly appreciated.
