I recemtly purchased a mixed case of 05 Oliver dry reds, cab sav, merlot, zin, and shiraz(I don't know why its not called syrah, this is the US). Any way, when I told my older brother I was going to sit on all but the shiraz for a few years he said the zin wasn't supposed to be kept that long. Is that right? When tasting at the winery, it had some firm tannins I thought might resolve with age, but since it was my first experience with zin, I guess I don't really know what to expect. I've had their 99 merlot so I'm sure the 05 will age out nicely. But what about zinfandel? WP
