Hi Gillian and welcome to the Wine Board. Taste tests with crowds have revealed that you can hardly miss with an Australian Shiraz and an Australian or Californian Chardonnay. If it was my party, I would get an "unwooded" chardonnay, but others prefer a little oak. Pick your own price point. Good wines are available starting at around 1.5 L.
