I asked what we were having for dinner...got a "whatever your fixin" answer. So I figured on some frozen beef and gravy and make some manhattans. Opened a bottle of Oliver, 02 cab. sauv. ($30 from the library), for the beef. Went upstairs and lo and behold, diced chicken breast cooking up in EVOO on the stove, thus we're not having whatever I'm cooking tonight!

Very dark in the glass, with a sort of clear rim with a ruby rim beneath it, hard to explain, but definitely a clear area at the top of the rim. A nice earthy aroma filled with blackberry overtones. Fruity flavors up front (which I'm unable to single out and identify), fairly smooth in the middle, almost weak without much tannic structure, with a fruity finish that is pleasant and linguring, maybe 3.25 laps. Pretty simple juice in my mind. Both glasses thus far have left granules in the glass, coarser than sand, more like poppy seed size. Easy drink alone, maybe should have decanted to allow the sediment to fall out. OH well, 13.5% alc
Happy day/night to all. WP
