A liquor store with no sparklers? Yikes ...

When you go to the the grocery store, another thing to look for is "mÃ©thode champenoise" written on the bottle. The difference between "dry" and "off-dry" is how sweet the wine is. "Off-dry" has a little bit of sweetness, whereas "dry" has virtually none. You shouldn't have any problem finding a good sparkler for $50.
