You might also look for Andrea Immer's "Wine Buying Guide for Everyone." It features over 400 widely available wines that are consistant year in and year out as well as much valuable additional information on each and how to taste wines. It was published this year, is in digest format, and lists for $12.95. Amazon and others have it at discount.

Many other books in this format contain vintages of recommended wines, and therefore become outdated very quickly. This one will be useful for many years.
