The answer to that question depends on your storage conditions. You say that you acquired it as a gift from a friend's cellar; assuming you can match your friend's cellar conditions (and they were optimum), you should be able to keep it for another 10 years if you wish. But if your storage is not optimum, and you must keep it in a pantry or closet, I recommend chilling it and serving at your next family celebration - anniversary, wife's birthday, birth of a baby, etc. The sooner the better.
