Decided to try a Piccolo to see how they're doing, so I opened our oldest bottle, a 1998 750ml that's been in our celar since it came out. The color was turning to brick, the nose was fairly nice and bright, the taste was cherry and raspberry, the finish was a bit short. Not a bad quaff, but I think it was a lot brighter a few years ago. Definitely at, or very near, its peak.
