Another beginner

I like wine and champaigne, but have never learned much about them. I like Red and white, dry and sweet. My wife likes only the sweeter tastes.

Can you recommend a champaign that is sweeter than a Brut, might be available at the wine section at QFC grocer, and costs under $20?
