Hi Tkeitt, and welcome to the Wine Board. For a newcomer to wine you are proceeding on an intelligent tract. It is excellent that you retailer is keeping a record. Video stores have done this for years.

It is very difficult to get labels off of bottles these days. You can keep a simple recond on your WP. You don't need a fancy winecellar program at this point. If, your retailer gives a periodic printout, you could annotate it, and keep the record, or scan it into the puter. It is better to record impressions soon after tasting the wine, so I think setting up a simple record on WP is the best option.
