Introduction & Inquiry

Gentlemen, Ladies, it is my pleasure to have discovered not only this web site but the "friendly" environment which accompanies it! Recently I have embarked on a journey of wine-discovery and this is a wonderful resource. For now I hope only to introduce myself, admit my "grape ignurnz", and thank you all for what I hope to be a mutually entertaining association. My inquiry is this: What was your first "use" of wine? Sounds like a strange question, yes, but in my case (get ready to groan) in my younger years we would add Sutter Home in heavy quantity to Gatorade to sneak it into the pools & hot tubs in our community. Romantic, right? We were 12. Years later my first experience with an actual "bottle" was in Madrid - I cannot tell you the name make or model - but it accompanied a truly massive rabbit & duck paella (sp?) and I will never, ever forget that night. (Author's Note: there was no actual romance that evening, in reality I got scolded roundly for using up all the hot water to wash my hands, the unforgettable portion was merely the size of a paella which required all four burners to keep warm, but now I'm rambling . . . )
